Seattle to Portland

Today we left Seattle.  While we were in our first traffic delays, digital warnings about eclipse traffic began to appear.  We were warned by our tour leader to buy additional snacks while we could as small towns could be overwhelmed due to increases in visitors.

We were supposed to call into the Mt St Helen's Visitor Centre, but we were too late.  However we had a good look from the boardwalk.  The top of the mountain seemed to be in the clouds, but in fact it was just missing!

We eventually got to Portland and our hotel.  We are a big group - 150 in total - and divided into 5 buses, so we travel with the same 30 people.  Departure times, visiting times etc are staggered, so the only time we meet all 148 others will be on eclipse day!
