Art and family - and Airbarnaby

Tonight is family reunion night for chinese new year.  The next 2 days are visiting and being visited by rels.   Today is the last day of fully open shops.

Dinner tonight,  as prepared by Sandar.  WZ, who has a fractured ankle, helped where she could.

In the morning, we went to see the exhibition from the Musee D'Orsay.  There was a group of french primary school students  (Lycee Francais de Singapour) with well prepared tasks allocated to them.  It was lovely to hear the teachers talking, and the students' questions - all in French!  Makes us realise that all art has a context and an additional resonance to those who share its origins.  A bit like why I am so fond of the Australian artists that paint scenes that are familiar to me.

One of the many Monets - Tulip Fields.

Been following the Barna-baby saga!  Pity we paid for our hotel before we discovered Airbarnaby, the site that lists rent-free houses owned by millionaires!
