31. Homeward Bound

Today we left Berlin.

On the way to the airport,  our taxi driver showed us where the wall once was.  It is marked by a series of rods - KM hastily took this through the taxi window.
He explained that there no windows in the buildings overlooking the west.

He also gave us an explanation of why there were so many Vietnamese people and restaurants in Germany.  During the Vietnam war, many (from North Vietnam) moved to East Germany.  Our Vietnamese are mainly from the south - but the pho and bun bo are the same it seems!

This was Berlin Tegel Airport.  Christmas lights again.

Then we waited at Frankfurt for our flight to Singapore.   Our gloves, long johns, and down jackets were packed away but still in our carry-on luggage.  A delayed flight and you might need them.

Boarding - at last
Plane got engines.
